WI-FI NETWORKING

lawyer-meeting.jpg

Wi-fi is easy to do, but good wi-fi is hard.

Do you ever have any of these problems with your wi-fi network?

  • Dead spots

  • Video calls dropping when you walk around with your device while on a call

  • Devices like wireless printers, smart TVs, and smart speakers have trouble connecting

  • Connection is slow when many people are using it at once

  • Network goes down occasionally for no reason

  • Constantly having to disconnect and reconnect devices, or reboot the router

If you do, you're not alone.  If you're just using the wi-fi that your Internet provider set up for you, or a wi-fi router you got at an electronics store, chances are it is incorrectly configured and inadequate for your business's needs.  Compusult has the wi-fi expertise to make your network reliable in all your use cases, and solve all of the issues above.  Here are some of the techniques we use:

  • Proper AP placement:  The most common mistakes in wi-fi networking are not using enough APs (Access Points, the devices that broadcast your wi-fi signal), and putting them in the wrong places.

  • Mapping and measurement:  We can use a wi-fi spectrum analyzer to create a "heat map" of wi-fi coverage on top of a floor plan of the building to identify trouble spots and ensure that APs are placed in optimal locations.

  • Channel and frequency selection:  Wi-fi has "channels" which are just like the channels on an AM or FM radio.  Many networks are configured incorrectly so that multiple devices are trying to use the same channel at the same time--including some networks set up by other IT professionals!

  • Modern AP technology:  We use cutting-edge access points that support 6G--a brand-new technology that is even faster than 5G.  Some of our APs even use AI to intelligently adjust their own settings to give you the best possible coverage.
