Ransomware

This threat is a mix of moderm rogueware and old-school ransomware.

A Trojan pops up and states that some of your data files have been "corrupted". They have actually been encrypted and the bad guys are holding them ransom until you pay $90 AND then of course they have your credit card info...

Solution:

Delete the encrypted files and restore them from your off-site daily backup. (and remove the rogueware of course...)
